You joined a guild...what to do now?

A year after Dragon Village 2 is released, the GUILD feature was made available.

A bit of history. When the guild feature was released, I tried my best to join other guild. Waited for a while to get added but that didn't come so I made my own guild under the name "Aemon." Unfortunately, only a few joined and most of 'em don't speak in English. What a challenge. So my friend, Zilla invited a whole guild named "NeoXclan" and we merged the guild. Now, we are known as Espada, Rank 21.

Alright, may I tell everybody, the guild is not for everyone. NOT for everyone. How come? A guild needs strong members. Why? Because the main reason for having a guild is to fight in expedition! For season 1, you have to fight Balrog. It's a 6-star HP-type chaos dragon. It's a dragon with 99,999 HP, 330 ATK and 90 DEF. It's a monster. So again, don't ask yourself why you are not getting added. Guild is not for the weak.

Alright, so you were lucky and strong to get into a guild. Now what?

The guild maybe a group but no, your resources don't get pooled. There is just 1 common thing you do: Fight Balrog.

The other things, contribute eggs, elements, and food to the guild to raise the guild's level. How come on, we don't want freeloaders here.

That's basically it. Remember: The guild is not for the weak.

Dragon Simulator (updated)

Version 1.6 of dragon simulator is here!

What can you do with this version?

You can pick dragon, select level, generate combination, select gems, and drinks!

How to use:

1. Download the file here.
2. Open the file in MS Excel. (This was made in MS Excel 2013 but I think it will work just right in other versions). Don't forget to enable content to open features.
3. All of the cells in red font are drop down lists. When you select a cell, it will automatically display the drop-down button (the grey with inverted triangle). Press that and choose what you need.
4. The final stats are the ones that will appear at the bottom.

Changelog:
- Added recommended combinations. Just pick the element of the first dragon and it will show recommended combinations.

Limitations:

1. All stats are based on 7.0 grade dragon only.
2. Drinks are limited to level 3 potions only. Basic buff drink not included.
3. Items not factored in. They are difficult to make because of the randomness of -options-.

If there is any problem, just comment below and I will try to fix it.

Happy simulating!

Grade Explained and How to Train your Dragons

You are in the dragon village...and you are not just a simple villager. You are given the task to save Yutakan, Metal Tower and Elysium. You have finished the story quite easily and you are met by reality -- the next step is to battle other players and join a guild...and you keep on getting rejected. You ask yourself why?

To cut the story short, your dragons suck. S-U-C-K. They all suck. Because they suck, you suck too. You fail as a dragon tamer.

I know you know that because you have a losing streak in colosseum. You merely scratch Balrog. That's bad isn't it? Considering you were playing not just for days, but months and maybe, year.

Worry not, I'm here to help. But first, the basics.

Rating Explained (skip this if you don't like maths)

To avoid confusion, let me tell you what grade is. It is also referred to as rating. It is not to be mistaken with stars which refer to "rarity." (Note: Stars affect the base stats of a dragon. Dragons with higher stars are stronger than lower stars.) Grade refers more to "power." In the picture below, that is the 0.0 and 7.5. The perfect grade is 7.0 but could go up by upgrading eggs and when leveling up with max plus. The highest I have seen is 8.5. Note: Blessed nest and guild buff (on hatch grade) does not guarantee 7.0 hatch grade.

Difference -- The image above perfectly shows the difference between a dragon with low grade and a dragon with high grade. The table below shows the different stats/abilities of Valefor on different grades. A perfect grade (7.0) has a world difference against a 0.0 grade: HP is 91 points higher, ATK is 55 points higher, and DEF is 42 points higher. That is a really BIG difference.

I would also note that basic abilities affect buff effect of items. Look at the effect of buff in the image above. for atk it is 90 on 0.0 grade and 96 on 7.5 grade. That is because buffs depend on BASIC stats.

ABILITY GRADE
0.0 7.0 7.5
HP 577 768 770
ATK 168 223 224
DEF 132 174 177

So, the real question is how to raise a dragon with perfect grade?

1. Buy blessed nest: One of the items you need to get as soon as possible. ASAP because it costs 300 diamonds. This doesn't add another cave slot. Instead, it converts all your nests to blessed nests. Effect? Increases your hatch grade by 0.6. Verdict: Must have. (The golden stuff in the pictures below is the blessed nest.

2. Upgrade your egg: Having blessed nest does not guarantee a hatch grade of 7.0. You can get 7.0 but it is very rare. So, upgrade your egg. Go to laboratory, choose upgrade egg. You need to have normal spirit stone, normal stone heart, crystals and gold to upgrade egg. Blessed nest + +1 upgrade almost guarantees perfect hatch grade. Verdict. Great! (The +1 beside the name means the dragon egg was upgraded.)

3. Always aim for triple max: Use level downs when you don't get triple max. That's basic. Verdict: Basic.

4. Use diamonds when necessary: If you don't know what diamond reset is, you have been playing ignorantly. When your dragon does not get triple max, you can just press reset to reset stats.

Warning: The only thing good about diamond reset is you don't have to explore an area again to level up. It also has opportunity to give you purple max or max plus which raises the dragon's grade. This is really really costly though and does not guarantee you anything. Verdict: Use with caution.

5. Use dragon's, maia's, dersa's and amorrus blessing. Contrary to popular belief (also known as item description), these items can give you triple max. Other players prefer to sell them, but I say, why not use them? Verdict: Sell them if you're desperate for gold.

6. Raise your dragon when it matches the element of the Tower of Light. This is the best tip I have come across. When your element in the tower of light is on, you will need less diamonds to get triple max or better yet get triple max plus. Caution must be taken though as you need the time on your phone to be set in Korean time otherwise the Tower of Light will show the wrong element color. It happens to me but I don't know if it is applicable to you.

What do you say? None of this, of course, are sure way to raise perfect grade dragons. But better than being clueless right?

Some clarification: Based on experience, the maximum grade that can be achieved without amorrus blessing is 7.5-7.6. That means, once you upgrade an egg and hatched it 7.5, basically, you just have to maintain its grade to level 47, then use amorrus at level 48-50. Also, Amorrus blessing can only be used 3x on a dragon.

Skills...Your Way to Victory

As I have explained, it seems just having high attack is pretty useless in this game because DEF reduces it too much. You have to use skills to boost your dragons. There are a total of 38 skills that you can learn in the game. Remember that matching slot and skill symbols significantly increases the effect of a skill (such as when on right slot, iron shield lasts 3 turns, but if not, 2 only).

There are a few things that need to be considered -- mode of activation. I once thought boulder defense is a good skill but it needs to be activated actively. Useless if you ask me.

There are 3 modes of activation:

a. Active - The skill activate when it is your turn to attack. Examples are Wings of Judgment and Piercing Wound.

b. Passive - Skills that are active throughout. Examples are speedy movement, fast move, and 6th sense of beast. This boosts the CRT and EVD of your dragon.

c. Passive-Active - These are skills that activate when you are defending. Examples are Iron Shield, Deadly Block and Barrier of God.

Slot Name of Skill In-game Description Mode of Activation Remarks
Iron Shield
[Reduce damage]
Passive-Active Lasts 3 turns. This skill is good to use on DEF-type dragons. Combined with block, it allows you to avoid damage even against high ATK dragons.
Barrier of God
[Cancel All Attacks]
Passive-Active Lasts 1 turn only. Blocks all attacks. Need I say more? It does not block skills though except for Wings of Judgment.
˜˜● Multiple Mirrors
[Reflect Damage]
Passive-Active Lasts 3 turns on the right slot. Reflects damage taken from opponent to enemies. Good on high HP dragon against high ATK dragons.
˜● Thirst for Blood
[Absorb Enemy's HP during Attacks]
Active Lasts 3 turns. Works like lifesteal. Good on one-on-one.
Shackles of Darkness
[Cancel Enemy's Turn]
Active Prevent enemy from casting skill or attacking. Useless especially when your enemy actually attacks a lot.
Field of Protection
[Reduces Damage Received from Combo Attacks]
Passive-Active I don't know how this works at all!!!
●˜ Wings of Judgment
[Powerful Strike Proportionate to Attack Level]
Active Hey, it's 3 time your attack! This is good but it can be blocked or evaded and can only be used once throughout the battle. Verdict: meh
Illusionary Effect
[Enemy Attacks Itself]
Active Lasts 1 turn. Good against high ATK dragons. Works well on Balrog. Stops Time Bomb only when the illusion is active when the enemy is about to throw the bomb. Verdict: Not bad
Piercing Wound
[Inflicts Permanent Damage]
Active Damage piles up. It really does. Combine with cat's eye. Good only if the fight drags on -- use it on raids and expeditions.
Hands of Darkness
[Copy Enemy's Skill]
Passive-Active You can only copy active skills. Too bad. Not really useful.
Strike of Rage
[Attack is Increased Proportionate to Reduced HP]
Passive-Active This skill is really really good, except your dragon is dying. Make sure you use platinum item with this,
˜▲ Purification of Light
[Cancel All Negative Effects]
Passive Negates all types of negative buff. Good when you're dealing with poison and piercing wound. It rarely activates though.
˜● Cross-Block
[Cancel Enemy's Combo Attack]
Passive-Active Prevents attacker from doing combo. Useful? I think not.
˜● Healing Light
[Restore HP]
Active This skill is good but rarely activates. HP healed seem to depend on user's HP.
Strike of Asura
[Special Attack that Inflicts Damage Proportionate to Enemy's Def]
Active This skill is for the win especially against high DEF dragons in night Yutakhan. You can beat Toratos with 1 strike. Takes some time to activate so you need an enduring dragon. Not useful on expedition so don't try.
The Final Strike
[Copy Enemy's ATK Lv.]
Active As the name suggests, it copies the attack level of the opponent. Good when you're using a DEF dragon and when you battle with high ATK dragons. TBH, not really useful.
˜● Nerve Poisoning
[Poison Attack that Inflicts Continuous Damage]
Active Lasts 3 turns. Your friend in many ways. Very useful against high HP dragons such as Balrog and raid dragons/monsters. Against Balrog, it deals 900 damage (3x300).
Rage of God
[Special Attack that Inflicts Damage Proportionate to Caster's ATK & DEF Lv.]
Active Combines ATK and DEF levels to deal more damage. Good to use on ATK/DEF dragons and can be casted repeatedly during battle.
˜● Boulder Defense
[Reduces Damage by 1/2]
Active Lasts 3 turns. Reduces damage taken by 50%. Pretty good. The only disadvantage is that you need to cast it. By doing so, you already lose 1 turn. So the effective turns are 2 only. You'd be better off with other defense skills.
Bone Crush
[Disable Block & Evade]
Active Lasts 3 turns. This skill is awesome because it disables block and evade. You can deal more damage with it. Good only for ATK dragons.
Deadly Block
[Add ATK Lv. To DEF Lv.]
Passive-Active Lasts 3 turns. Works like iron shield. Combine the two and you have awesome DEF dragon. Note: Best used on ATK/DEF dragons. Not really useful on pure DEF or pure ATK dragons./td>
Charge of Great God
[Special Attack that Inflicts Damage Proportionate to Caster's HP]
Active Can only be used once. As the description suggests, the higher the HP, the higher the damage made. Use only on HP dragons.
●˜ Time Bomb
[Cast the Special Attack After 7 Turns]
Active The most badass among skills. This skill cannot be blocked once activated except when the enemy is affected by Illusion. Good to use on high HP dragons.
Do or Die
[Drops Caster's HP to 1, and Engages Suicidal Attack]
Active Your dragon suicides but it doesn't die. You have 1 hp left to deal the final blow. Your enemy is also left with 1 hp. Who deals the final attack determines the winner. Doesn't work on Balrog.
Hammer of Oblivion
[Disable Enemy from Casting Skill]
Passive-Active Stops most skills. It does not stop passive and passive-active skills though. At best, you can stop enemy from using the Time Bomb and Nerve Poisoning.
Yanus Tactics
[Switch Caster's ATK and DEF]
Active Lasts 1 turn only. Use this only on DEF type dragon. I see many players put it on ATK dragon. Do you really want to switch your low DEF to your high attack? Good to use on DEF dragons.
Instincts of Beast
[Increase ATK]
Active Increases ATK for 3 turns.
●˜ Protection of Nature
[Increase DEF]
Active Increases DEF for 3 turns.
Attack Order
[Increase ATK & DEF]
Active Increases ATK and DEF.
●˜ Fast Move
[Increase Evade]
Passive Increases your EVD by 2%/4%/6%/8% depending on level.
●˜ 6th Sense of Beast
[Increase CRT]
Passive Increases your CRT by 2%/4%/6%/8% depending on level.
Speedy Movement
[Increase CRT, Evade Rate]
Passive Increases both CRT and EVD. This is passive. Best combined with 6th sense and fast move depending on whether you want high CRT/EVD.
Silent Pressure
[Reduce Enemy's ATK]
Active Lasts 3 turns when put on right slot. Reduces damage taken from opponent.
Identify Weakness
[Reduce Enemy's DEF]
Active Lasts 3 turns when put on right slot. Increases your damage dealt to opponent significantly.
Deadly Vibe
[Reduce Enemy's ATK & DEF]
Active Lasts 3 turns when put on right slot. Reduces enemy's ATK and DEF. By how much? Who knows.
Sign of Glacial
[Reduce Enemy's Evade]
Active Lasts 3 turns. Reduces enemy's EVD. No, it does not match Bone Crush.
˜● Cloud of Paralysis
[Reduce Enemy's CRT]
Active Based on the description, it prevents enemy from doing CRT. Well, why not?
Reversal of Time
[Reduce Enemy's CRT, Evade]
Active Reduces Enemy's CRT and EVD. Well, unless highbrow tells me how much, I won't use this kind of skills.
